Templating is an important step in ensuring that you are happy with your countertops after they are installed. When scheduled, our templating technician will arrive at the job site to create an accurately measured model of the area where the countertops will be installed. Note: Cabinets must be installed prior to templating.

Nu-Art's skilled fabricators create your custom sustainable countertops at our Portland location after we create a template at the job site. The fabrication process includes cutting, sanding, laminating edges, wet-sanding, finishing, priming, and oiling. Fabrication is usually completed 1 to 3 weeks after we recieve the templates.

In the Portland Area: On your installation day, Nu-Art's installers will arrive at the job site with your new countertops. Installation can be a two to three day process depending on the details of the job. On the first day, the countertops will be fitted, glued down, and caulking and epoxy applied when needed. On the second day, a finishing coat of oil will be applied on site.
Out of Area: Nu-Art often crates and ships countertops to other parts of the U.S. and Canada. Experienced contractors can install the finished countertops when following Nu-Art's basic guidelines.

Most of Nu-Art's solid surface materials are renewable - that is, they can can be sanded, refinished, and re-oiled to restore them to their original appearance. Normal use may warrant refinishing every two to five years depending on the severity of stains and scratches.
